Prof. Paulo César DE MORAIS
Catholic University of Brasília & University of Brasília, Brazil

Speech Title: Developing transition metal-decorated polymeric nanodots for MRI contrast agent
Bio: Paulo C. DE MORAIS, PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology – China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at UnB. Professor Morais is member of the Brazilian Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered 170 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With about 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than 12,500 citations and 16 patents, he has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023-Research.com.


Assoc. Prof. Chin Wei Lai
University of Malaya, Malaysia

Speech Title: Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO): Innovations of 1D Nanomaterials, and Applications for the Environment
Bio:Dr. Lai [PhD, BEng(Hons) | PEng, PTech, CEng (UK), MIEM, MIMechE (UK)] is currently an associate professor in Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Centre, University of Malaya. Lai’s main research interests are in the areas of chemically modified metal oxide photocatalysts, functionalized nanomaterials/ nanocomposite and carbon graphene materials, especially apply in environmental pollution management and solar energy technology. As a scholar and an indication of the global impact of research work, Lai’s works have been published in more than 250 refereed international top-tier journals with Scopus h-index of 40, 75 book chapters, and 100 international proceedings in materials science, physics, chemistry, and renewable energy researches. In all, Lai has reviewed more than 1100 papers in the past few years, mainly for top international journals / conferences and now serving as associate editors, guest editors, topic editors and editorial board members for several prestigious international journals. Through his work nanomaterials and catalysis field, Lai was awarded as APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research and Education (ASPIRE) 2023 National Winner, IMechE Best Young Member Award 2022, JCI TOYM - Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians 2021 (Academic Leadership and Accomplishment), National Young Scientist Award 2019 by The Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC), MASS Young Researcher Award 2018 by Malaysian Solid State Science & Technology Society (MASS), a finalist of National Young Scientist Award 2018 by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia (MOSTI) and University of Malaya Excellence Awards 2015 in the category of outstanding researcher - UM Young Researcher (Sciences Discipline). Lai’s scholastic achievement and thought leadership are recognized locally and internationally. He has been appointed as the "Adjunct Research Advisor" for Shoolini University, India and "Foreign Expert/Professional" for Shanghai JiaoTong University, China since 2022. Lai is honoured to be listed among the top two percent scientists in a global list since 2020 till up to date (2022) compiled by the prestigious Stanford University from the United States (US) and awarded as Top Peer Reviewer in Cross-Field & Materials Science powered by Publons (Top 1% of Reviewers) since 2019. He is recognised as among the calibre and outstanding young scientists in the country who have the potential of advancing the scientific ecosystem in Malaysia.


Prof. Ion Tiginyanu
Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Moldova

Speech Title: Advanced structures based on wide-band-gap semiconductor compounds for multifunctional applications
Bio: Ion Tiginyanu graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Engineering in 1978. He received his Ph.D. degree in Semiconductor Physics from Lebedev Institute of Physics, Moscow, in 1982. He completed research projects at the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow (1995/96, 1998/99) and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA (2000/2001). From 1998 to 2004 he served as vice-rector of the Technical University of Moldova. In 2004 he was elected vice-president and in 2019 – president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova where he implemented communication platforms aiming at an efficient scientific dialogue within the academic community as well as between researchers and society. Professor Tiginyanu’s research interests are related to nanotechnologies and materials science. He has more than 400 journal publications and 52 technological patents. He developed the surface charge lithography and hopping electrodeposition, and invented the first artificial material with dual hydrophobic/hydrophilic properties (called Aerogalnite). Tiginyanu got the ‘Outstanding Inventor’ Award from the World Intellectual Property Organization. He is member of the Academia Europaea and European Academy of Sciences and Arts, honorary member of the Romanian Academy, Fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) etc.


Prof. Satoshi OKAMOTO
Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan

Speech Title: Cold crystallization of liquid crystal polymers and their high frequency properties
Bio:Dr. Satoshi Okamoto is Chief Research Coordinator of Corporate Office in Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. In Japan. He hold his doctorate in polymers from Tokyo Institute of Technology in June 1995, and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Polytech University (now the State University of New York). He joined Sumitomo Chemical in April 1996 and has been consistently engaged in new development and innovation. In research and development, he succeeded in industrializing catalytic polymerization of liquid crystal polymers for the first time in the world, and while the market remained strong, he succeeded in developing a manufacturing method that satisfies both productivity and quality, and he has incorporated it into his company’s own industrial production. Afterwards, he also engaged in the development of transparent polyimide film, which was also used in Foldable Phones. In 2017, he promoted open innovation and collaborated with ventures in areas such as odor sensors, synthetic biology, carbon nanotubes etc. Since April last year, he has also been working as a specially appointed professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology and a team leader at RIKEN, while working with academia to implement quantum many-body materials in society. He has a track record of filing over 500 patent applications.


Prof. Zi-Long Zhao
Institute of Solid Mechanics in Beihang University, China

Speech Title: Computational morphomechanics of biological structures
Bio:Zi-Long Zhao obtained his doctoral degree from Tsinghua University (China). Since 2021, he has been working as a Professor at the Institute of Solid Mechanics in Beihang University (China). He is elected as an overseas high-level young talent of China, an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) fellow, and a young top talent of Beihang University. He is an expert of the Chinese Ministry of Education, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the ARC. He is an editorial advisory board member of Engineering Fracture Mechanics, and an invited reviewer of more than 30 internationally renowned esteemed journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. His research interests include solid mechanics, biomechanics, and structural topology optimization. He has published nearly 50 papers in high impact SCI journals such as Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, Biophysical Journal, and Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering. Many of his papers are selected as cover stories, journal highlights, featured papers, and editors’ suggestion. His publications have attracted more than 1200 citations. His research outcomes are reported and publicized by mainstream academic organizations such as the American Physical Society and the American Biophysical Society.


Prof. Keun Park
Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea

Speech Title: Development of mechanical metamaterials using polymer additive manufacturing
Bio:Dr. Keun Park received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Republic of Korea, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He then received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST in 1999. Before joining Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) in 2002, he had worked as a senior researcher specialist at Manufacturing Technology Center, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Corporation, Korea. Dr. Park is currently Professor at the Department of Mechanical System Design Engineering at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea. He has been serving as an Editor for International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing since 2014. His research interests include numerical analysis of material forming processes, micro-fabrication of plastic parts, and additive manufacturing for developing mechanical metamaterials. He has published over 180 technical papers for international journals and conferences.


Asst. Prof. Qingxiang Ji
Harbin Institute of Technology, China

Speech Title: Functional Composite Materials and Structures in Heat Manipulation
Bio:Qingxiang Ji is an assistant professor in Harbin Institute of Technology (China) and now is a visiting scholar in National University of Singapore (Singapore). He got two PhD degrees, i.e., Mechanics in Harbin Institute of Technology (China) and Engineering Science in Université de Bourgogne Franche-Comté (France). His main research interests are metamaterials, composite materials and structures mechanics, thermal manipulation and nonreciprocity. As a young researcher, he has published 25 papers and 6 patents. He is funded by Marie Skłodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province of China and Scientific Research Foundation for Young Scholars. He was honored with the Title "Best Researcher Award" by "International Research Awards on Civil and Environmental Engineering" (2023) and Title “Vebleo Fellow Jr”, by the Vebleo committee (2022). His work is selected as the cover and highlighted papers in journal like Extreme Mechanics Letters and Chinese Journal of Aeronautics.

2023 the International Conference on Composite Material, Polymer Science and Engineering (CMPSE 2023) was held with great success in Tokyo, Japan, on August 7-8, 2023. This global gathering of experts and professionals allowed for in-depth discussions on the latest research and innovations in the field. CMPSE 2020
South Korea | Dec. 7, 2020

CMPSE 2020 was originally intended to be held in South Korea on December 7, 2020. However, affected by the limited travel restrictions caused by the global pandemic, the decision has been made to transform the in-person component of CMPSE into a full virtual conference experience. Sharing and discussing the research ideas in CMPSE conference, and conference was held successfully with the online attendance of authors and speakers, as well as the great support from the conference committees.

We are pleased to announce that CMPSE 2019 was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand on October 24-25, 2019. This congress was facilitated with an aim to bring together leading academic scientists, engineers, industry researchers, and students to stimulate the exchange of their experiences and resarch results about all the aspects of materials science. The conference was also paid a special attention to the interdisciplinary research the field of materials.

CMPSE 2017 was the first ever International Composite Material, Polymer Science and Engineering Conference, has been successfully held in Toyama, Japan, on June 24-25, 2017. The aim of the conference was to focus on the major developments that have taken place in the rapidly advancing field of Composite Material, Polymer Science and Engineering. By organizing these highly interdisciplinary conferences right in the early years of its existence had laid out the perfect foundation for a glorious and path-breaking future.
